Cetaphil is best for me year after year
When I find a product to be excellent, I tend to remain loyal. I may try others, but I return to the one which continues to prove it's excellence year after year. Despite more costly products I've tried as samples, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser has been my cleanser of choice for many years. I've tried a generic brand from CVS and found it to be much more slimy and thick than the real thing and gave it away to a less scrutinizing customer.My skin and eyes are extremely sensitive and can become dry, so I am very cautious when trying new products. This one was recommended by a dermatologist and I'm very grateful for the suggestion because it meets my desires in a cleanser. It is extremely gentle, fragrance free and can be used directly on my eyes. I apply it onto my dry face, rub it all over, including the eyelids, then rinse it off and pat my face dry. Gentle Enough for the Most Sensitive Skin
I've used this skin cleanser for close to 20 years and love it!!! Very gentle, doesn't dry out skin and removes makeup wonderfully. Gentle enough to remove eye makeup too. Leaves skin moisturized and soft. Be sure not to confuse with Cetaphil's Daily Facial Cleanser...totally different, but deceivingly similarly looking on the shelf.

Really Great Gentle Facial Cleanser
Cetaphil is an amazing product. Our family has been using it for the longest time. It is not sudsy like ordinary soap which makes it very easy to rinse. You will not spend a lot of time just to remove that slippery feeling when using soaps. After you dry with a face towel, you will feel the difference on your skin. Oil is gone without you face feeling stretch dry. It is very gentle it was recommended before by my wife's derma for one of my sons when he had a skin problem. It does work as a shaving lubricant too.

Fantastic for face and whole body - for sensitive, eczema, acne too
I have VERY sensitive skin, with some atopic dermatitis. My face, earlobes, chest and shoulders, and insides of wrists seem to be the most tender and will get red, itchy, hot, or blotched with a rash, if I am not careful about gentle cleansers, lotions, perfumes, fabrics, etc. Compound this sensitivity with the fact that my skin is extremely acne prone if I am not careful. I have switched from Purpose liquid cleanser (a nice product) to Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser lotion and am amazed by how nice it makes my skin feel. It is extremely soothing. I no longer get the above mentioned red, itchy, hot, rashy etc. skin since I've started using this product and the Cetaphil Cream (original cream in the jar) twice daily. The Cetaphil products are not a treatment for acne, but they are so gentle that they don't interfere with the topical meds you might be using - and for me that is exactly perfect. (I use an AHA to exfoliate my skin and keep it acne free) Both Cetaphil products seem to help...

Great Cleanser and Moisturizer
I love this product! My doctor had recommened it to my brother who has extremely sensitive skin. And I tried it because I ran out of my usual face wash and hasn't switched back since (4 years ago). It says you can leave a thin film on, but I find that it makes my skin itchy so I rinse it all off with warm water or if I am camping, I just wipe it off with a wet towel.It's the best as a make-up remover - especially eye makeup like mascara. I used to use the Lancome Bi-facil double action eye makeup remover which is really good, but this works even better for so much less.I also use it like a moisturizing face mask - wash and rinse face (with the cetaphil), apply a fair amount onto skin and leave for about 10 minutes, then rinse off again.This stuff is like 1/10 the cost of my previous face wash but works better! And because it's doubles as make-up remover and mask, I can carry less when I travel.BUT my husband, who has really oily...

A simple, gentle cleanser
I am 13 and have extreme combination skin. Some places are so oily that 6% benzoyle peroxide cleanser was prescribed my my dermatologist, other places were so dry that my skin cracked, peeled, and burned painfully. I noticed my little brother, who is 3 and has eczema, was using it. I read on the bottle that it was a cleanser, so i looked it up on the internet and heard how good it was. I've used it for two days and my skin is clean and soft. The different skin types have been evened out already, the oily places not nearly as oily, the dry places moisturized without that disgusting clog your pores feeling. I apply it, rub in, then towel off, leaving a tiny bit behind. I'm not going back to my prescription cleansers and moisturizers, why should I? Cetaphil is reasonably priced, fragrance free, and my face doesnt hurt. Thats reason enough for me.

Use this for two weeks and you'll be amazed!
This is a really great cleanser, mild yet incredibly effective. It takes a while to find out how great it is, though; the cleanser doesn't suds up, doesn't have a great scent (or any scent!) and won't give you that "fresh clean" feeling right after you're done washing. Use it for several days, though, and you'll be won over: it does a great job of clearing your skin of dirt and make-up so there's nothing left to aggravate even very sensitive skin; it rinses really clean; it will leave your skin dewy but not oily.

good for average skin types but too mild for problem skin
I picked up a sample of this at a health fair and flashed back to getting samples of Cetaphil when I when to my dermatologist's office several years ago. I don't know if they still hand this out at dermatologist offices today. To me, it never made much sense that my doctor recommended this for my very severe acne. It's good for average skin or those with the occasional oily spots and break-outs but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for anything more serious than that because it's a mild cleanser - too mild for anything more severe than the typical skin-cleaning needs. For those kinds of problems you need a deep cleanser.The reviews saying this doesn't do a good job removing make-up pretty much prove my point. Even this type of Cetaphil for oily skin isn't much stronger than soap. Out of the samples I got from my dermatologist I found the Aveeno products far more effective at deep cleaning (Aveeno is an oatmeal-based product and oats are natural exfoliators)...

Excellent cleanser!
Cetaphil's Daily Cleanser is great for sensitive skin. I have a hard time finding facial products that don't irritate my skin. Cetaphil is one of the few that cleanses without drying, and leaves my skin soft and smooth. Without irritation or blemishes. I recommend this product to anyone with any skin type, especially sensitive skin.

This product is wonderful for my skin!
This stuff goes a long way. I bought a large bottle last year and I am still using it. You don't have to use much to clean your face either, using a lot would just be a waste of soap.I have an oily T zone and very dry cheeks. It has been hard to find a gentle cleanser that gets the oil off but keeps the cheeks as they are. This stuff ROCKS. I have tried expensive designer milk cleansers and face soaps, but this one really beats them all. My face does not feel dry or taut after washing. Some people mistake this taut feeling as cleanliness, but it's really the soap stripping all the natural moisture from your face! This soap does NOT dry your skin, which is important for beautiful skin. I will never change face soaps again!

pretty good stuff
Overall this cleanser does a good job on my combination skin. It leaves it feeling clean and soft at the same time. I also like the fact that it comes in a pump. Very easy to dispense.

Amazing product
I have very dry skin that breaks out due to the dryness. My doctor recommended I use this product and since I have started using it, I have not had one single breakout. And my skin feels refreshed, renewed, and all my dry patches are gone. I have tried everything, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Dove, Oil of Olay, and the list goes on, but this is by far, hands down the best product for my skin and it does not break the bank. I wish I had known about this much sooner. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this product. It may not be for everyone, but even my husband who has oily skin loves it as well. I am hoping they can come out with a bodywash.

Purpose -- I use it every day!
I love this product. At one point I thought J&J was going to discontinue it and so I stocked up. I use it to wash my face and it leaves it clean yet moisturized. Many other cleansers either leave residue on your face or they completely dry out your skin. I've had great results using this cleanser every day.

Gentle, doesn't dry out your skin, washes off easily
This is a great cleansing wash that my wife's dermatologist recommended. It is ideal as a face wash because it doesn't dry out your skin after using it the way some astringent washes do, leaving your skin scaly or rough. It also washes off easily and doesn't leave a thin film behind like other washes. It is very good at cleaning but also quite gentle. Highly recommended if you have more sensitive skin and need a face wash that doesn't completely dry you out.
