Good scent
I like sleeping with a clean face because your face gets oily and picks up a lot of dirt during the day and I don't like the thought of wiping all that stuff off on to my pillow when I sleep.I don't use soap because it drys up your face so I tried this.1) I like the tube because it's easy to use.2) Cleans nicely and doesn't leave your face dry.3) I usually don't like strong scented stuff but sometimes you just need some scent to cover up assorted smells you pick up during the day.I recommend this mainly because of 2), i.e. it doesn't dry your face up but still cleans nicely.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

Above average product, but beware of shipping damage
Let me start by reviewing the product itself. Full disclosure: I am most definitely not a face wash aficionado. I've never found a face wash that I felt was far superior to the rest, and I don't think that this one is particularly special. But I have found face washes that were clearly inferior to the rest, and I have found face washes that were ludicrously overpriced. Amazing product
I have very dry skin that breaks out due to the dryness. My doctor recommended I use this product and since I have started using it, I have not had one single breakout. And my skin feels refreshed, renewed, and all my dry patches are gone. I have tried everything, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Dove, Oil of Olay, and the list goes on, but this is by far, hands down the best product for my skin and it does not break the bank. I wish I had known about this much sooner. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this product. It may not be for everyone, but even my husband who has oily skin loves it as well. I am hoping they can come out with a bodywash.

Purpose -- I use it every day!
I love this product. At one point I thought J&J was going to discontinue it and so I stocked up. I use it to wash my face and it leaves it clean yet moisturized. Many other cleansers either leave residue on your face or they completely dry out your skin. I've had great results using this cleanser every day.

Gentle, doesn't dry out your skin, washes off easily
This is a great cleansing wash that my wife's dermatologist recommended. It is ideal as a face wash because it doesn't dry out your skin after using it the way some astringent washes do, leaving your skin scaly or rough. It also washes off easily and doesn't leave a thin film behind like other washes. It is very good at cleaning but also quite gentle. Highly recommended if you have more sensitive skin and need a face wash that doesn't completely dry you out.

Leaves Skin Flawless - minimizes pores
I am 40 years old and still get pimples because I have large pores that get clogged easily. The soap I was using (Acne Aid) got discontinued. The apothecary recommended this product and it works amazingly.I wish I could have tried it sooner. My pores have reduced in size and my skin is so soft and clear. I use it twice daily followed with Noxzema Triple Clean pads. My skin has not looked better thanks to this routine.Please try this soap if you have large pores or a lot of blackheads.

Great soap!
I purchased this to help with acne. NO NEW ZITS SINCE I STARTED USING IT!!!Pros: It has done a very good job of cleansing and drying out the acne without drying out my skin. I have had no irritation at all from using this product.Cons: It may slightly stain your light colored washcloths.

A great facial bar soap that UNCLOGS pores!
I am a bar soap lover--I hate liquid cleansers. Not sure why, but I do. This one is great for pulling the goop out of pores and bringing it to the surface for removal. It makes your skin feel soooo clean-no residue. I have combo skin, more toward the dry side, and have developed adult onset acne on my cheeks and temple area. My chin and nose have always had problems with blackheads. This soap dramatically reduced the development of whiteheads on my cheeks, and really cleaned out my pores. I haven't had any new blackheads on my nose for months! Note: I also stopped using a moisturizer (maybe that helped too). IT IS KEY to really take the time to lather this soap up on your face in circular motions. Note: This soap can be drying, but I have been okay using it without a moisturizer afterwards.

Truly Silly
This is just plain cute. It's real full-sized bar of soap. I bought it for my husband as Christmas stocking stuffer and he loved it! He's never opened it - I guess he just likes looking at it when he opens his bathroom drawer. It's a kind of thing you don't want to ruin by actually using it. The white side says, "Face" and the dark side says, "Butt". It's pretty funny that the dark side is the butt side...lol!.....anyway....it's a cute gag gift even if does cost more than it should.

My favorite soap
I love this soap and have used it for years. It's no longer available in my area in bar form. I prefer the bar over the foam. It's perfect for my sensitive skin. Tyra also uses it and recommended it on her show.

Kids with sensitive skin
I have a child prone to eczema. When he graduated from Aveeno Baby Wash to bar soap, this is the only bar soap that wouldn't cause a skin reaction. (The only other bar Aveeno makes is the oatmeal formula, but it smells bad and he won't use it.) Even though it's technically an acne soap, and he's not using it for acne, he uses it all over, and even washes his hair with it with no problems.I don't know what it is about Aveeno that makes it work for sensative skin - it's not all natural, it's not fragrence free - but it works, so we'll keep on using it.

Great for sensitive skin
I have used this Basis gel cleaner for years. I have found only 1 other product that cleans my face without breaking it out or causing blotchiness and that is Aveeno. This Basis cleaner does a good job cleaning your face, smells nice, and is good for sensitive skin. FYI the Basis Sensitive Skin cleanser does not work very well. This face wash is gender neutral (not ultra girlie), so even my husband will use it.I am careful about what I use on my face, and this product works for me. Plus it is a great value. The 6-ounce tube lasts for a long time too, b/c you only need a little to wash your face. The drug stores I shop at have stopped carrying this product, so it's nice to be able to order it here on Amazon.

LOVE Basis
This is an awesome basic face cleanser. I love how it smells, lathers, rinses, and how my face feels afterwards. Skin is clean and soft. This cleanser is said to be for normal to oily skin. But if you have sensitive skin that is not SUPER sensitive, I'm sure you can use this. That's the kind of skin I have. I tried other formulas that are made for sensitive skin (Cetaphil) and found those to be too gentle that it didn't give me the clean feeling I wanted. This cleanser took off my make-up and really gave me balanced results--dry parts were cleaned without over drying and oily parts were cleaned and unwanted oils were removed. I stopped using this cleanser for a while only because I couldn't find it in stores anymore. I'm so glad that Amazon carries it and at an even better price than before since I'm using Subscribe and Save. I highly recommend this cleanser. Ok for a regular face wash
My husband talked me into buying this product as we thought it was a 'green' product that was eco friendly and not tested on animals. This is not the case--if you find out otherwise let me know. Basically, the soap feels just like I have used hand soap on my face--too harsh. I have regular skin so my face is not too oily or dry and it still felt too dry. However, the face wash does have a nice, clean scent and a bottle of this will last you a while. I would be willing to try this product again if it was truly made of natural/organic components (no lauryl/laureth sulfates) and is 100% not tested on animals. Makeup products should never be tested on something as frivolous as beauty products. That being said if you want something to choose from besides the regular face wash companies give it a try. If you are looking for something 'green' this is not it.
